Introduction to Centering Prayer
Wednesdays, Sept. 19-Nov. 14; (8 sessions - no meeting on October 31)

Stillness and silence are rare gifts in our fast-paced lives. Participants in an eight-week series on contemplative prayer being offered at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Fort Worth beginning Wednesday, Sept. 19, will be invited to be still and know God through the practice of Centering Prayer. The eight sessions will include contemplative practice, study and support in Centering Prayer. Full participation in the first two classes will be necessary for moving into the remaining sessions.

Days and Dates: Wednesdays, Sept. 19-Nov. 14 (8 sessions - no meeting on October 31)

Time: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. for Sept. 19 and 26; 7:15 - 8:45 p.m. for remaining sessions

Facilitator:  Emily Haeussler.  Emily is a devoted practitioner of Centering  Prayer and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. She is being commissioned by Contemplative Outreach, Ltd. to present workshops on Centering Prayer.

Registration Fee: $10

Registration Process:
     In Person:  Weekdays: Register in the Adult Education Office (Room 145) Mon. - Thurs. (8:30 - 4:30 p.m.)
     Sundays: Registration forms available in the Welcome Center and the Adult Education Office. Return registration forms and fees to the Main Office (Attn: Virginia)

Payment:  Please include payment with registration. Checks may be made payable to: First UMC (memo: Academy). Checks may be mailed to First UMC; 800 W. 5th St.; Fort Worth, TX 76102.  Full refunds will be given for any class which is cancelled.

Registration Deadlines:  Please register for all classes no later than 5 days prior to the first class meeting.
